The need for project management is pervasive. It cuts across all the domains of the economy – from government to mining, construction, financial services, IT, and technology. Good project management lies at the heart of the effective delivery of most goods and services. This course equips learners to explain core project management concepts, including principles, processes, roles, and tools. It targets individuals in project teams—such as leaders of small projects/sub-projects with limited resources and stakeholder impact, or contributors to medium/large projects—across sectors with a key focus on the below:
- Describe project management frameworks (e.g., initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, closure).
- Explain stakeholder management, risk basics, and resource allocation.
- Apply fundamentals to real-world scenarios for small-scale project leadership or team support.

Course Details
Module 1 – Scope and Time Management
Objective: Effectively manage the resources of a project from start to finish
Learn how to inaugurate a project or a phase of a project. You will learn how to identify what work is required in the project and how to accomplish the objective of the project. You will learn how to make decisions on how to most effectively use resources for projects and allocate resources for each task until the project objective is accomplished.
Module 2 – Managing project communications
Objective: Manage the communications of the project to work effectively and to make decisions
In projects there is always communication throughout the execution of the project. You will learn how to sustain interaction in different contexts, write and present for the people who are involved in the project as well as gathering and managing information to make decisions.
Module 3 – Managing finances of a project
- Objective: Develop, and manage project costs
- When executing a project, a budget is needed and is one of the most important aspects of a project. You will learn how to develop costs of a project , develop a project management plan and how to apply accounting principles and procedures, to prepare reports and use those reports to make decisions.
Module 4 – Managing the application of project integrative processes
- Objective: Develop an integrated project management plan
- Many people are involved in a project, a project manager will need to know how to manage stakeholder relations on a project. You will learn how to empower the team, delegate tasks, and encourage participation when making decisions. You will learn how to develop an integrated project management plan and manage the risks of a project.
Module 5 – Monitor, control execution and project closure management.
- Objective: Monitor, control and execute a project from start to finish
- In this module you will learn the skills and knowledge of how to monitor and control the execution of the project management plan, furthermore you will learn how to coordinate the finishing phase of a project.
